Aon Corporation. The Group's principal activities are to provide insurance brokerage, consulting and insurance underwriting services through subsidiaries. The Group's activities are classified into three major segments: Insurance brokerage and other services, consulting and insurance underwriting. The insurance brokerage segment offers retail, reinsurance, specialty and wholesale brokerage operations. The consulting segment provides human resource consulting. The segment serves emerging businesses, IPOs, recent mergers and acquisitions and corporations that are reengineering staff functions. The insurance underwriting segment offers accident-only and sickness-only insurance products, including short-term disability, cancer aids medicare supplement, disability income and long-term care coverage. Insurance brokerage and other services accounted for 60% of 2002 gross revenues; insurance underwriting, 29% and consulting, 11%.
