Alcoa Incorporated(ALCOA). The Group's principal activity is to produce aluminum products. The Group operates in six segments: Alumina and chemicals segment provides mining of bauxite. The Primary metals segment produces aluminum ingot. The Flat-rolled products segment produces and sells aluminum plate, sheet and foil. The Engineered products segment includes hard and soft alloy extrusions, super-alloy castings, fasteners, aluminum forging and wheels. The Packaging and consumer segment includes foodservice, flexible packaging and packaging graphics design. The Other segment produces fiber-optic cable and electrical components and provides services to telecommunications industry. It has international operations in Australia, Spain and the United Kingdom. In 2002, it acquired Ivex Packaging Corp and Fairchild Fastener. Primary metals accounted for 24% of 2002 revenues; Engineered products 21% ; Flat-rolled products, 20%; Packaging and consumer, 12%; Alumina and chemicals, 11% and Others, 12%.
